I go with Bama and Nick Saban

I've been to games in Tuscaloosa. Bama is hard to beat there. People talk of allowing a 3-pt advantage for home-team advantage. Having been there to watch my Sooners play the Tide and to watch Penn State play them a different season, I have to give Bama a greater edge for home field. My Sooners won anyway but I was thrilled to get out of Tuscaloosa in 2003 with a 20-13 victory.

OU went 12-1 in the regular season that year and lost in the NC game to LSU by 1-touchdown. The Coach for LSU that year; Nick Saban.

Now for the second advantage for the Tide. Nick Saban is probably the smartest coach in major college football and he is now the Bama coach. LSU has a great team this season with former Oklahoma State coach, Les Miles, now LSU's head coach. I still have to go with the Tide. In Tuscaloosa - Nick Saban. Enough said.

Yes, there is a chance the Sooners can meet the Tide for the NC.  OU is currently BCS #6.  For OU to meet the winner of the LSU/Bama game, the Sooners need to win-out.  There are now 5 major undefeated teams in big-time college football: LSU; Bama; Oklahoma State; Stanford; and Boise State.

I predict Bama over LSU this Saturday, regardless, only one will remain unbeaten.  OU meets Oklahoma State on December 3, Stanford loses to Oregon and one-loss Oregon still has to beat a good USC team.  That would leave Boise State the only undefeated team remaining between Oklahoma and the LSU/Bama winner.  Boise still has to get by a pretty good TCU team but I would expect Oklahoma to jump them anyway because of the Broncos weak schedule, if OU wins out.

About Okie8ball, To Be, rather than To Seem.
This Blog is about college football, particularly OU football. I played football in high school and snow ski and play golf, now. Next to the Sooners, I am an Alabama fan but I love college football, period. I am not a Sports fan. In looking for College & OU Football stories, I look at the sports pages, cover to cover. I learned about the OKC Thunder, & watched my first ever pro-basketball games last year. Because of former OU stars Sam Bradford and Adrian Peterson, I've also watched my first NFL games in years. As you see, though, college football is the driving force.
